Washington University

student_jabbot.jpgJodi (Assiniboine and Gros Ventre) was raised by a single mother on the Fort Belknap Indian reservation, and saw first-hand the need of her people.

Jodi is a graduate of Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Montana, where she earned a bachelor's degree in human services, and spent many years working in social services as a Disabilities Coordinator, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families caseworker, Upward Bound Summer Component Coordinator, and Activities Director. She decided that with a master's degree she “will have the capacity and education to be an agent for change and work for American Indian tribes across the United States” and enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis- George Warren Brown School of Social Work in St. Louis, Missouri (concentrating in Social and Economic Development).

In addition to her work, Jodi coached youth baseball and basketball and raised her nephew Coby.

Jodi says, “I believe it is through education that I will be able to enrich my life as well as Coby's and the loved ones that surround us.”
