Denver, Colorado – November 17, 2010 – The LEF Foundation has granted the American Indian College Fund $10,000 for scholarships to support qualified American Indian students who show academic achievement and involvement in their communities. With a college education, students can build a better life for themselves, their families, and make valuable contributions to their communities and nation.
Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, said, “The generosity of the LEF Foundation will help American Indian students who could not afford to do so achieve a college education. Education provides our students, their families and communities with the tools they need to eliminate poverty and provide hope for a better future. We are grateful for the LEF Foundation’s commitment to American Indian education.”
Marion E. Greene, President of the LEF Foundation, said of the foundation’s support, “I've always been profoundly concerned about the plight of Native Americans in this country and I know that education can make all the difference in lives and communities.”
