| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Lucia Novara, 303-430-5323, lnovara@collegefund.org AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND DALLAS, TX (May 2, 2007) – The American Indian College Fund (Fund) will pay tribute to the ExxonMobil Foundation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the Meadows Museum on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The company is being honored for their long-standing tradition of supporting the organization and its mission to raise scholarships for American Indian students. “We have a wonderful base of support in the Dallas area, with the ExxonMobil Foundation leading the way. We are delighted that our board members, Chuck Hensley and Steve Denson, have combined their efforts with other Dallas area supporters to raise awareness of the nation's 32 tribal colleges and universities, said Richard B. Williams, Fund president and CEO. “Tribal Colleges are vastly transforming Indian Country through education, and we are grateful for the ExxonMobil Foundation's longtime commitment to our efforts.” Fund Trustees, Chuck Hensley (Williams Financial Group) and Professor Steven Denson (Southern Methodist University), will co-host the event which will feature keynote speaker, Wilma Mankiller, author and former principal chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Special board of trustees guests will include Ferlin Clark, president of Diné College on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and New Mexico, and Dr. Cynthia Lindquist Mala, president of Cankdeska Cikana Community College on the Spirit Lake Reservation. All proceeds from Thursday's event will benefit scholarships for American Indian students.
