Tribal College Journal Seeks Story Ideas for Language Restoration Issue

November 29, 2012

Tribal College Journal is planning an issue focused on “Language Restoration” (Vol. 24, No. 4, Summer 2013), and we are seeking suggestions from TCU presidents, deans, faculty, and friends.

What language use programs and practices are working to restore Native languages among tribal communities? What are the best practices when it comes to teaching Native languages? What is the evidence for the success of these programs? This issue will allow tribal colleges to share best practices, while also acknowledging that all tribal communities are different and may require different approaches.

Even if you don’t have the time to write a story yourself, please send information about what’s happening in this area at your tribal college. Tribal College Journal is also always seeking Talking Circle and Voices columns and profile ideas.

Please respond before December 14, 2012 to editor@tribalcollegejournal.org with story ideas or a few sentences about important issues or innovative programs at your tribal college.
