United Tribes Technical College Provides Hope for the Future June 11, 2012
When I was in Mrs. McQueen’s second grade class at Jeannette Myhre Elementary School in Bismarck, I never dreamed that someday, as an adult, I would reconnect with my teacher on a professional level. Yet 17 years later, I did just that.
Last year I decided to go into Elementary Education. One of our first field trips was to my grade school. To my surprise and delight, I found some of my teachers still there, including Mrs. McQueen. She hadn’t changed a bit. And she remembered me! I thought, “I still want to be like Mrs. McQueen when I grow up!”

Leech Lake opens wellness center February 9, 2012
Leech Lake Tribal College (LLTC, Cass Lake, MN) has opened its campus Wellness Center. Funded in part by grants from the Minnesota Department of Health and the John Snow Inc. “Healthy People 2020” program, this new initiative will provide a wide variety of services and information related to the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of its students and staff.
Muscogee College Library receives donation, kudos February 8, 2012
The College of the Muscogee Nation’s (CMN, Okmulgee, OK) Library is having a banner year. In addition to moving into a brand new facility and adding several hundred items to our core collection, the library has received a donation from a respected tribal member and also hosted the Oklahoma Library Association’s Tribal Libraries Ad Hoc Committee.
