Inside the Fund

The Students We Serve:

The American Indian College Fund serves students from the nation's 565 federally recognized tribes. Tribal college students from these nations are working to transform their lives, families, communities, and Indian Country with their education.

The American Indian College Fund in the Community:

The staff at the American Indian College Fund is committed to demonstrating its values outside of the office. These values are the touchstones of how one should behave in Native culture. They are known as the five R's:

  • respect
  • responsibility
  • reciprocity
  • relationships, and
  • reasoning

The American Indian College Fund gives back to the local community through civic participation and by contributing time and resources to those in need.

The American Indian College Fund staff organizes clothing and winter coat drives, participates in events to raise awareness about Native people such as the Sand Creek Massacre, and hosts an annual holiday dinner for Denver-area Native elders.
