Tribal Colleges - ND

Established in 1969 by an intertribal organization, United Tribes Technical College is operated by five tribes in North Dakota. Initially the college was a residential employment-training center but later became more technically oriented. The two-year college is the largest employer in Bismarck and reports a local economic impact of $54 million. The college also operates an elementary school, which serves students up to the eighth grade. In the fall of 2002, the college had an enrollment of 463 students.
