Tribal Colleges - MI Bay Mills Community College
Bay Mills Community College (BMCC) is located on and was chartered by the Bay Mills Indian Community in 1984. BMCC has a service delivery area which encompasses the State of Michigan, and from its main campus in the Eastern Upper Peninsula oversees the operations of 32 Public School Academies, which it has Chartered under the State School Code. BMCC, through its virtual college, services Head Start employees on remote Indian reservations nationwide by providing an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Early Childhood Education with an embedded emphasis on Native American culture. Students may also earn an AA degree in Business Administration or expand their understanding of Native American culture. Bay Mills Community College offers associate degree programs in applied science, arts, and science that include construction technology, computer information, Ojibway language and culture, corrections, teacher education, business administration, and health and fitness. Students are able to earn a bachelor's degree in teacher education on BMCC's campus through a partnership with Ferris State University.
